Chair for Materials Science and Engineering

Christoph Somsen is in charge of the transmission electron microscopy activities at the Chair for Materials Science and Engineering. He runs a research group, which focuses on elementary deformation and transformation processes in structural and functional engineering materials. At the Ruhr-Universität Bochum, Christoph Somsen is the contact person for the International Max Planck Research School SurMat (Surface and Interface Engineering in Advanced Materials). Christoph Somsen teaches classes on Advanced Characterization Methods (X-ray analysis and TEM) and on high temperature materials.
